Donut-Themed Books
A great story to use on Donut Day is The Jelly Donut Difference by Maria Dismondy. This one is about a brother and sister who are learning to get along.
Another great one is part of the "If You Give a..." series - If You Give a Dog a Donut by Laura Numeroff is a fun way to get kids writing.
One of my favorite books is The Case of the Missing Donut by Alison McGhee is a super-cute story of a boy who has been sent to pick up a dozen donuts and what happens along the way.
