Five For Friday

I'm linking up once again with Doodle Bugs Teaching for a truly random Five For Friday!

I'm a little jealous of all the teachers posting about the beginning of their summer vacations. I've still got 18 report cards, 19 teaching days, 1 field trip and 1 P.A. Day to go. But who's counting?!
I woke up to a wrong-number text message this morning! I giggled so much reading this that I'm surprised I didn't wake my husband!
Sounds like Tina is a lucky llama. Hehe.
I can't say enough about GoNoodle. Really. I am in no way compensated for my comments. I have no affiliation with them. But I LOVE what the site has done for my class. REALLY.
My kids are obsessed. They ask repeatedly throughout the day if we can do it, and they cheer - at the top of their lungs, I might add (sorry, Mr. B!) - when our Class Champ makes it to the next level. We've already maxed out three of them!

We've used it for Brain Breaks, DPA (mandated Daily Physical Activity), indoor recess, and free time rewards. Most recently, we've discovered Mega Math Marathon and Flow, and I absolutely love both.

Mega Math Marathon presents students with random math questions (based on their grade level) while they jog in place. I get to indicate if the answer students provide is correct, and at this point they go on a 15-second "Turbo Run".
The math questions cover a variety of topics, and the class is actually running a 26.2 mile marathon! They are always excited to see their session results! (The images are from the demo class - my kiddos wouldn't be impressed if I messed up their stats!)
Flow is a mindfulness game. It teaches students how to channel their energy, calm their nerves & reduce their stress. It is so relaxing and beautifully presented. There are several different Flow programs to select. I caught one of my busiest students "in the moment" during Flow today...
No words needed. Look at the body language. Love it! :)
We're working on some multiplication practice right now. My kids are so impressed with themselves and can't get enough of it!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

  2. Thanks for visiting my blog! I also love GoNoodle and it definitely helped us keep our sanity during our last week of school. My kids were always begging for Airtime (also a breathing exercise) so they could learn fun facts about cities/states. I'll be following you on Bloglovin'! :)
